OOOSplat is a local desktop application from the developer ooolabdev that turns an ordinary orbit video into a 3D Gaussian Splatting project without any command-line orchestration. The user picks an input video, a project directory, and a quality preset, and the app chains FFprobe analysis, uniform FFmpeg frame extraction, COLMAP feature extraction and sequential matching, incremental camera reconstruction, Brush training, and an atomic publish of a validated final.ply. Everything runs on the machine's own CPU and GPU, so source media, frames, reconstruction data, models, and logs stay in the local project directory instead of being uploaded to a cloud reconstruction or training service, and the React 19 interface calls a Rust and Tokio backend directly through Tauri 2 with no remote service or localhost API in between. Three quality presets trade frames for time: Fast keeps 30 percent of frames at 8,000 Brush iterations and 1,200 pixels, Balanced 50 percent at 15,000 and 1,600, and Detailed every frame at 30,000 and 2,000. The pipeline gates itself on COLMAP's image registration rate, stopping below 50 percent, warning between 50 and 80 percent, and treating 80 percent or higher as normal. Version 0.3.0, published on 2026-08-30 and still tagged a prerelease, ships installers for Windows x64, Apple Silicon macOS, and Ubuntu 24.04 x86_64, with the latter two labeled Alpha and the macOS bundle currently unsigned and un-notarized. Windows bundles a CUDA build of COLMAP 4.0.4 and enables GPU feature extraction only after confirming an NVIDIA driver of at least 528.33 and Compute Capability 5.0, otherwise falling back to CPU and showing the reason. An in-app preview workspace loads finished PLY files with orbit, pan, and zoom, edits whole-model position, rotation, and uniform scale with undo and redo, and exports numbered edited.ply copies without overwriting the original. Per-Gaussian selection, deletion, cropping, and cleanup are not supported yet, nor are the .sog and .spz formats, and resumable jobs, image-sequence input, and panoramic video remain roadmap items. First-party code is Apache-2.0, while the bundled FFmpeg, COLMAP, and Brush keep their own terms.
