Amagine3D is the open-source 3D capability layer Amagine is developing for hardware creation, currently focused on printable intelligent-hardware enclosures and related structures. Given a product description, reference images, and key dimensions, its 3D-native Agent turns the request into an immutable intent and a mutable semantic scene of parts, features, interfaces, materials, and BRep masters; design starts from internal components, arranges mounts and interfaces, then builds the enclosure, controls, and thermal structures, adding hinges, latches, and assembly clearances for multipart designs. An autonomous inner loop measures the generated geometry directly, checking wall thickness, print orientation, plate fit, and interference, then a separate commit stage accepts or rejects the result against the prior baseline. Manufactured geometry keeps editable Python and build123d source and exports genuine STEP, STL, a display GLB, and a profile-bound 3MF package with permanent color regions when needed. The runtime is built on the OpenAI Codex SDK and requires an OpenAI Responses-compatible API key or model gateway, set via LLM_API_KEY/LLM_MODEL/LLM_BASE_URL (existing CODEX_API_KEY/OPENAI_API_KEY values are also accepted). Visual review depends on image perception in the configured model or provider, which a rendered PNG or text reply alone doesn't prove; npm run doctor -- --vision checks image-attachment and native view_image support. For appearance-led requests without a reference image, the Agent may search the web when network access is enabled, through the Tavily-backed a3d search command if TAVILY_API_KEY is set or the provider's hosted Codex search otherwise. Setup needs Node.js 22.19.0+, Python 3.10-3.13, and npm; the install builds a local .venv with pinned CAD dependencies, and no desktop CAD app is required. The current public release is under active development, focused on single- and multi-color printable BRep geometry combining lofted envelopes with parametric mechanical structures, and the complete workflow has been tested in desktop Chrome and Edge. Amagine3D's own code is Apache-2.0; separately installed dependencies keep their own licenses, including Open CASCADE Technology/CadQuery OCP (LGPL-2.1 with the Open CASCADE exception).
