Key capabilities include Text to Image generation with style and composition controls, Generative Fill and Expand in Photoshop, text-to-video creation with camera movement controls, AI-powered sound effect generation, and vector graphic generation. Adobe has also integrated partner models including ChatGPT Image and Google Veo 3 into the Firefly ecosystem. The platform uses a generative credits system, where different AI operations consume varying amounts of credits. Firefly models are trained on licensed content, Adobe Stock, and public domain material, making outputs safe for commercial use. With the 2026 updates, Firefly now offers unlimited image generations on select plans and has expanded its video generation capabilities to produce five-second clips with customizable camera angles and aspect ratios.
